JJ Fuds Inc Expands Recall ~Listeria Monoclogenes

 J.J. Fuds had recalled their products in the month of January and they are now expanding their recall.  The recall pertains to their Chicken Tender Chunks, Beef Tender Chunks, and Duckling Tender Chunks pet food. This  has the potential to be contaminated with Salmonella and or Listeria Monocytogenes.

Salmonella can be fatal to young children, the elderly and those with weakened immune systems. Fever, headache, stiffness , abdominal pain, diarrhea and nausea are the symptoms of salmonella. Handling contaminated items and not washing your hands thoroughly can cause cross contamination to  humans.  It may feel like you have the flu and since this is flu season you want to be mindful of potential handling of your dog's food so the two can be deciphered.

Pets that have salmonella may or may not show symptoms as some pets can be carriers and not get ill.  You may see lack of appetite, vomiting, bloody diarrhea, fever, and abdominal pain.

   

   Animals with Listeria will show similar symptoms to salmonella.

Humans symptoms of Listeriosis can be fever, muscle aches, nausea, diarrhea. If the infection spreads to the nervous system  you may see headache, stiff neck , confusion, loss of balance or convulsions.

 Products were distributed in Minnesota ,Wisconsin, Indiana and Illinois.

April 1 deadline for class action suit~ do you have a claim?

Notmally I do food and treat recalls but I thought it equally important to post this as well for those of you that were harmed from buying contaminated jerky treats made by Waggin' Train or Canyon Creek  which came from China.

There is a class action suit going on but you have to put your claim in by April 1.  

I do hope those that were affected will join on this suit to send a strong message for our pets.
