3-29 -3013 recalls expanded again!

Natura Pet is expanding it's voluntary recall for Salmonella. However no reports as of yet have been filed by the public.

Remember that dogs can be a carrier of salmonella so if you have multiple dogs and only some of them are getting ill it does not mean that salmonella is not the problem.

There does seem to be some specialty type foods that may be used for dogs with allergies such as herring and sweet potato or salmon and peas.  Be sure to check each lot if you use this product!

Recalls on Iams Shakeables Dog Treats

Not salmonella this time but possibly worse! The voluntary recall is on  the Iams Shakable Turkey and Lamb dog treats due to "potential" mold growth.  Proctor and Gamble has not received any reports of illness but you should know what happens if your dog eats moldy foods.

Dogs can  vomit, have tremors/shaking, and seizures and symptoms can be seen within a few minutes or by thirty minutes after eating moldy food. If you suspect your dog has eaten any moldy food, by Iams or any other method seek supportive care from your Vet, which may include giving the dog fluids and medication to aid with shaking and seizures.

you can return the product to PetSmart for a full refund and you can contact Proctor & Gamble  at 877-894-4458.
