Salmonella can produce flu like symptoms in humans with the very young and the elderly being most affected. Watch for vomiting , diarrhea. stomach cramping, and fever. Though a bit more rare for healthy people, watch for further ailments that are more severe such as muscle pain, eye irritation, arterial infections, arthritis, endocarditis and urinary tract symptoms.

Keep in mind that some animals are carriers and may not show symptoms so if you have multiple dogs and one or two do not show symptoms of vomiting , diarrhea, lethargy, fever or abdominal pain, it does not mean they are not affected.
